National Action Plan on Open Government Promotion discussed

On February 8, PESI Chairman Farid Malikov partook at the meeting, which discussed the final draft of the National Action Plan on Open Government Promotion for 2020-2022.


The meeting was organized at the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan and attended by the representatives from the relevant government agencies, civil society organizations and experts.

The meeting participants took stock of the final draft National Action Plan, discussed the actions and measures to be implemented in 2020-2022 and made some suggestions for improvement.

The meeting decided to submit the final draft to the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for approval.

The National Action Plan on Open Government Promotion for 2020-2022 was developed by the working group consisted of the government officials and civil society representatives, and the process was coordinated by the Commission for the Fight against Corruption of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The National Action Plan 2020-2022 envisions the measures geared to preventing corruption, expanding the principles of openness, transparency and accountability in public administration, increasing financial transparency, combatting legalization of criminally obtained money or other property and terrorism financing, streamlining access to information, enhancing the activities of civil society members, enhancing public participation and citizen oversight and improving public services, etc.
